To bring the everyday city-dweller into closer contact with the wonders of nature, a series of railings have been installed at key sites throughout the area. As visitors move through the surrounding landscape, they are invited to take hold of the railings and engage with their tactile, naturalistic surfaces, using them as a point of contact with the nature around them.

The works draw loosely on a pseudo-anthroposophical approach, combining an emphasis on sensory experience with an awareness of the natural environment. Each railing consists of a long, horizontal ceramic form, with varying structures and textures that mimic natural surfaces.

Their distinctly unnatural appearance sets them apart from their surroundings, deliberately drawing attention to the objects and encouraging visitors to pause, touch, and look more closely at what is around them.

Ultimately, the work is less about the railings themselves than about everything beyond them. They function as a kind of perceptual tool—a platform through which attention to nature can be activated. By introducing an unusual and slightly disruptive element into the landscape, the works create a moment of interruption through which a more conscious encounter with the surrounding environment can begin.

The railings simply take you by the hand and guide you into your own experience of nature.
