FUNGI

Varying Sizes / Glazed Ceramics / 2025-ongoing

They emerge from shadow, slow and deliberate, as if remembering the shape of light.

Neither plant nor animal, they carry the logic of elsewhere — soft geometry, damp symmetry.

Their skins gleam with moisture, a breath caught between soil and air.

Caps unfold like the gesture of a hand, revealing gills that read the humidity of the world.

Each one a solitary cosmos, pulsing with quiet urgency.

They rise, perfect and perishable, unbothered by the brevity of their bloom.

In their posture there is something human — a reaching, a listening —

yet their language is mineral, microbial, ancient.

To witness them is to stand before a paradox:

creatures that are barely here, yet utterly present.

They do not seek our gaze, but once seen, they remain —

bright apparitions of hunger, beauty, and rot.
