ORCHESTRA(TE) is an installation of coral-like ceramic forms arranged across a structured field, each carrying its own distinct sound.

For centuries, coral occupied an uncertain place in natural history, described at different times as a plant, a mineral, or something between the two. The term zoophyte, meaning “animal-plant,” was used to describe such ambiguous forms.

This uncertainty between the animate and inanimate, the natural and constructed, carries into the installation. The forms remain visually still while their sounds emerge and overlap in waves, coming together and spreading apart in a shifting, rhythm-less composition.

An orchestra of shapes and sounds: produced, manipulated, and made to seem almost natural. The scene becomes strangely eerie—a gathering of silent forms given voice.
